Ø  M – 1931 – This is a German film about police not being able to solve a mystery, others are then brought in to help the search – this is similar to our film because the police have a hard time solving the murder of the victim at first

Synopsis: This film is about a serial killer who whistles a certain tune everytime he kills someone. One of the creepiest scenes in the film is when a little girl is seen walking down the street holding a balloon, the man then goes up to the little girl and a few seconds later you hear the man whistling and the balloon floats up into the air. The police have a hard time finding out who is completing these murders. This was one of the first serial killer films to be released.

Ø  No Country for Old Men – 2007 - This film is about a hunter discovering dead bodies, drugs and money, trouble ensues the discovery – this is similar to our idea as in our film the dead body is discovered by surrounding neighbours when they start to complain about the smell of the dead body

 

Synopsis: Llewelyn Moss finds a truck of dead bodies, large amount of heroin and a large amount of cash. When Llewelyn takes the cash he sets off a chain reaction which not even the law can control.

Ø  Gone Baby Gone – 2007 – This is a film about two detectives investigating the kidnapping of a young girl, their personal lives and professional lives are stretched to the limit – this relates to our film as the police investigating this crime are really stretched to their limits in their professional field as the serial killer is hard to find

Synopsis: A 4 year old girl goes missing and her aunt hires two private detectives who admit that they aren’t experienced with this type of case, on their investigation they face drug dealers, gangs and paedophiles, they then face a moral decision that could tear them apart.

Ø  Se7en – 1995 – This film is about two detectives, a rookie and veteran hunting a serial killer who uses the seven deadly sins as his stimulation to kill people – this film relates to ours as it is also a serial killer film

Synopsis: This film follows two homicide detectives who try to track down a serial killer who bases his killings on the seven deadly sins. Together they trace the killers steps whilst witnessing the aftermath of his horrific crimes.

Ø  The Alphabet Killer – 2008 – This film is about an investigation into a young girls death, the film is loosely based on the alphabet murders that took place in New York – this relates to our film because it is also a serial killer film like our idea

Synopsis: A driven detective is investigating into the killings of a serial killer when she has a nervous breakdown after finding out that the murderer is still at large and there have been many more homocides
