M (1931)

This is was released in 1931 and was a German film that was based on police that couldn't solve a mystery. This mean's that they had to bring in others to help. This is similar to our film because the police have a struggle to solve the murder of the victim when it first happens.

Plot - M is about a serial killer that has a habit of whistling the same tune every time that he goes to kill. There is a dark scene in the film when a little girl is walking down the street holding a balloon which leads to the man following her. He is doing this which he also is whistling and the balloon floats up into the air. This leads to the police having a hard time finding out who have caused the murders. This film was a huge achievement as it is one of the first serial killer films to be released.

Suspect Zero (2004)

This film was released in 2004, it is an American psychological thriller film. The film is based on the hunt for suspect zero who is a potential serial killer who is able to kill indefinitely as he keeps undetectable from the law enforcement agencies that are trying to catch him. This film is similar to our is that there is a struggle to find out who has killed the person and struggle to get him.

Plot - The location is Dallas where it focus on FBI agent Thomas Mackelway who has had a suspension and a breakdown. This leads him to arrive in Albuquerque where a salesman gets killed in a hideous crime. Mackelway get put in charge of the investigation and call for backup from others he used to work with. This has the introduction of agent Fran Kulok, this leads then guides them to Benjamin O'Ryan who claims to be a former FBI agent that this considered to be a random killing machine. This leads to Mackelway to become obsessed in trying to find the truth.

No Country for Old Men (2007)

This film is an American neo western neo-noir thriller film that was released in 2007 that was based on Cormac McCarthy eponymous 2005 novel. This film follows a Texas welder and Vietnam veteran in the desert landscape in the 1980 West Texas. In this film there is themes of fate, conscience and circumstance. This is similar to our film as the dead body is discovered by surrounding neighbours just like in this film.

Plot - In this film it shows the main character Llweelyn Moss who is seen stumbling with a case of money among dead bodies. He thought that he could keep quiet however silent killer Anton Chigurh locates Moss and the money. This leads to Moss to make a run for it, while this was happening bodies were falling everywhere. Also while that was happening there is Sheriff Ed Tom Bell who is overseeing the investigation and begins to see the county in an different way to what he had previous.

The Silence of the lambs (1991)

This film is an American horror thriller film that was released in 1991 and is based on the novel which was released in 1988 by Thomas Harris. In the film it focus on Clarice Starling who is a young US FBI trainee that is seeking the advice of an imprisoned called Dr Lecter to help in apprehend another serial killer who is known as Buffalo Bill. This films is similar to our as it features a serial killer that is on the run and needs to be caught.

Plot - This film focus on the character Clarice Starling who is a young intelligent FBI trainee, has been sent to a hospital in Baltimore which had the criminally insane held within it. She was there to interview an inmate called the cannibal lecter, who was once psychiatrist that turned into an infamous psychopathic serial killer. To try and catch the killer she that to match wits Lecter who has a very darkest of all minds. This means that she has to trust him into giving clues for the search of Buffalo Bill which is the nickname of the serial killer.

Seven (1995)

This film is an American neo-noir crime thriller film that was released in the year 1995. This film is based on a story of David Mills who is a young detective who is partnered with the retiring William Somerset which are tasked with tracking down a serial killer who uses seven deadly sins as tropes in his murders. This film relates to ours as it features the theme of serial killer that are films features.

Plot - It portrays the exploits of deranged serial killer. This features his agenda which involves choosing seven victims that has represented egregious examples of transgressions of each of the seven deadly sins. He then views himself as the sword of God, in which he hands out horrific punishment to these sinners. To stop this evil serial killer sees the introduction of two cops. The first is an Detective William Somerset and Detective David Mills who team up to capture the causer of these horrific killings.
