Possible
distributor for our film
Universal
Ø Universal Studios
is an American film studio owned by Comcast through the Universal Filmed Entertainment
Group division
Ø The company was
founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle, Mark Dintenfass, Charles O. Baumann, Adam Kessel,
Pat Powers, William Swanson, David Horsley, Robert H. Cochrane, and Jules
Brulatour,
Ø It is the 2nd
oldest surviving film studio in the United States.
I researched into universal as a possible distributor for
our film because it has had many successful horror films in the past such as ‘My
Little Eye’ and ‘Candyman.’ However, it hasn’t recently brought out any horror
films so our horror film could be a new revolutionary one which attracts a wide
audience of universal’s previously released films.
Columbia pictures
Ø Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. is an American film
studio, production company and film distributor that is a member of the Sony
Pictures Motion Picture Group, a division of Sony Entertainment's Sony Pictures
subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Sony.
Ø The studio was
founded in 1918 as Cohn-Brandt-Cohn Film Sales by brothers Jack and Harry Cohn
and Jack's best friend Joe Brandt
Ø It released its first feature film in August 1922.
Ø It adopted the Columbia Pictures name in 1924, and went
public two years later.
I researched into Columbia pictures as a possible
distributor for our film because it has also had many iconic and successful
horror films such as ‘I know what you did last summer’ and ‘Zombieland.’
Therefore, our film could add to this success and the unique selling point of our
film which is the symbolism of the murderers hum would help it to be even more
successful.
